Not necessarily. Although your external calls will be made with cloud telephony, your existing on-site system may well be compatible, or converters may be available. Some clients will prefer to keep an on-site system, or host their own voice server., instead of paying a third party for hosting. Whatever your preference, Acomz can assist with your choices.
Here at Acomz, we can appraise your current systems, identify your options and offer advice, with costs, to see if there is a more efficient or cost-effective way of working. After that, you can tell the callers and junk mailers, you're already sorted.
It's certainly correct if they are not going to provide any on-site support. Obviously the cloud server is maintained with your license fees, but ask the questions.. What happens if there is a network issue on-site that prevents your phones working, or connecting? What if your internet connection fails? Will they send technicians to site to resolve local issues? We think you're better off with Acomz technicians, who can attend site and resolve any issues when remote connectivity is not available.
It is certainly an option to use an app on the PC and in some scenarios it is ideal, but how do you answer your callers before the PC is switched on? Will the app interfere with any other processes on the PC, or add more overhead to an already slow machine? This is where Acomz can assist you in identifying the correct mix of devices for your needs, allowing you to mix desk phones, software apps, cordless and mobile devices to build the communication system that is right for you.
There are many devices, such as Tannoy, Intercom, Door Entry that use analogue interfaces and the majority are still able to function on an Acomz VoIP system, either with analogue interfaces, or converters. For most items we already have IP based alternatives, but we can look at these for you and identify the best connectivity for your site.
Our experience is that desk phones can be fully integrated with the PC software and tend to be ultra reliable, often lasting for many years. Unfortunately our experience with tablets is they rapidly become outdated, slowing down with new software upgrades and generally not quite as reliable, with broken screens etc. They would not be our choice for daily business telephony at your desk, although our cloud services do provide apps to use on both your Android and IOS tablets, for when you need integration to work remotely.
